The main purpose of this site is, first and foremost, to be a source of information about fungi, primarily in North America, for the internet community. On this site, there will be images, videos, and references to help better understand some neat, basic information. All of the references for this can be found not only on both the About Mushrooms and Dangerous Mushrooms pages themselves, but also in a separate webliography tab in the menu above. This information will hopefully not only show the beneficial nature of fungi but also the different parts and types of fungi in North America.
A future goal for this site would be to create a blog where people can ask questions and get answers about fungi. Please note that while using this site, I may casually forage, but I am by no means an expert in the field, so please be sure to always cross-reference. A few books I myself use include the National Audubon Society: Field Guide to Mushrooms and the Beginner's Guide to Safely Foraging for Wild Mushrooms: Identifying and Collecting Mushrooms Sustainably with Confidenceby Karen Stephenson.
